When framing artwork there are several approaches possible. Here are two important elements to keep in mind:
a.) Historically informed frames
b.) Personally appealing frames.
Be it an 18th century print or a contemporary oil on canvas, you need to find a frame you feel at home with and that does not compete with the work of art.
Glass: When using glass over a valuable print, consider the maximum elimination of ultraviolet rays. They can cause your work of art to fade with time. Also ask for non-reflective glass. Matting: The matt board must be made of cotton fiber, or acid-free matting which will keep your artwork safe. Molding and Liner: If your painting requires a molding and liner please consider proportions when choosing. The liner and the molding should not be the same width to maintain proportion and balance. Bo Art has been framing artwork of all styles since 1989 and has reliable sources for high quality frames and materials as well as experience.
